Our challenge

Research told us that  44% of consumers bought sweet potatoes and most bought them bi-weekly or monthly, with only half of respondents aware of their nutritional value and one in four unsure as to how to cook them. (Source: 1000 national representative; Toluna 2011)

This set us a challenge….to educate the UK consumer about the benefits of sweet potatoes, of their value and nutritional punch, and to demonstrate how versatile the vegetable is, in terms of ease of preparation and range of uses. 

Enter Felice Tocchini, a chef renowned for developing unique and interesting ways of eating and enjoying vegetables.  His sprouty cake challenged our thinking of the love it or hate it Brussel sprout and we asked him to apply the same limitless approach to sweet potatoes.

Felice has created a range of recipes; some easy to prepare and some less so, but all use our star ingredient in a new and exciting way.

We're proud to say that now UK consumers are eating over 90% more sweet potatoes than 5 years ago and incredibly over 38 million people are now regularly eating them!
